Cat placement
Does my new cat have to be placed where the old rear one was? It would make my life easier if I could move it back like 10 inches, here's why I ask:

Cat placement
The cats are placed by the manufacturer according to exhaust temperature, which is controlled by timing (pcm), and egr function.
Moving the cat back is preferable to moving it forward. Moving it back will cause it to run cooler, which may affect your ability to pass emissions, but moving it forward, towards the engine, could cause it to overheat.
