I looking to install a Flowmaster Cat-Back system on my '99 XLT 4x4 Expy. Currently, all drivetrain parts are stock. Was looking for suggestions/things to look out for with the installation of just the cat-back kit. Btw, www.summitracing.com has the kit for about $220 with an addtional $10 for shipping. Anybody seen anything better? Thanks in advance.
Make sure you get stainless tips with your kit. I never bought a kit for any of my trucks. I've always taken my trucks to a local custom exhaust shop that way you have a choice where your tailpipes exit.
So they don't rust and pit after a few months. I have stainless on my Expy the look brand new and I have never touched them. My other truck has cheap chrome ones and I can't keep them clean. Maybe your kit won't have tips, it was just FYI if they do.
i just put the flomaster kit on 97 expy i got it from jegs it was about $20 cheaper and got it a lot sooner.
the kti is a breeze to install had the whole job done except welding in about 2 hours. sounds awesome but quiet at idle
Just had Flowmasters installed on my rig. I had the 50 series installed and was really in the dog house with my wife! This is mainly her vehicle and they were too loud for her in first gear. The shop was very understanding and switched it out for a 70 series. It is much quieter but still has the nice sound, only cost $125 more!! But the wife is happy.
