No, it wont cause any problems, hell, 95% of PSD's came without one. You must have an early 99 handshaker. you can get a cat delete pipe from MKO(site sponsor)

Better check local inspection laws. Here in NC, they have started cracking down and soon it will be, "if it had in new, it has to have it now" Mine never had a cat, but did have a muffler, had to go several places before I got it inspected the last time.

thanks guys, I live in Vestaburg, Mi. There are three cop cars in the entire area (and I think they put out more emissions than my truck does)
Also I was wondering where I could get a muffler delete and would it make the truck to loud? My friend drives a dodge neon with a cherry bomb in it, He put it in backwards so that it would be louder than it was suposed to, he got pulled over twice this last weekend. So he changed the direction so that it would be quieter.

I doubt it would be that much louder with a stock exaust and just removing the cat. I went with a 4in straight pipe and its not that loud untill you hammer it. If you get pulled over just tell them its a diesel its suposed to be loud lol

If your gonna do that then get a single piece fabbed up at the local muffler shop(cat delete and muffler delete). if you have the factory 3.5 inch pipe then they should have that on hand. A big truck shop will have 4" that you can buy and take to the muffle shop and have it welded in place versus clamping.

Like Brandon said above, MKO is a site sponsor although i looked for the link for yaa and i couldn't find it, just look around on here. As for the cheater pipe, its not going to be as loud as your friends fart can(sorry, just had too) but you'll hear it when you get on it. Welcome to FTE, best place to be...

I bought 10' of flex pipe and band clamps. As long as you support it in a couple of places, it works great. You can hear the turbo out of the exhaust. Not much louder.

And look into recycling (selling) the Cat. I deleted mine and threw it away, then heard that people were actually stealing cats off cars to sell for rare metals inside.
