Just ordered my cat delete for my stock exhaust. Just curious if anyone has the one I ordered and if there is anything else that I need to buy for the install before it gets here? Here's the one I ordered 03-06+ Ford 6.0L Powerstroke Diesel Cat Delete Pipe
you will have to buy some bolts to go through the flanges. the ones in the stock exhaust are studs and don't exactly come out of the cat easily. i tried..LOL
Ok so some new bolts I'll pick some of those up. As far as the muffler delete I did that the second day I had the truck. Either one of you two have this cat delete?

I just ordered the same pipe last night. I've got the engine apart doing the EGR cooler delete and new oil cooler now. I'm debating wether or not to change the water pump since everything is apart. 130,000 miles, whatcha think?

Not sure if that is the same place i got mine from, I purchased mine almost 3 years ago, and transfered it from my last truck to this one. Easy to install, just have to drop the skid plate thats in the way ( If you Have one) and like said above you will need 2 bolts 4 washers 2 lock washers, and i also used 2 lock nuts as well.
I have not done the muffler delete yet, where did you purchase your, and how was it to install?
The muffler delete was done by a muffler shop. They just cut out the muffler and welded a piece of straight pipe in.
What size bolts and what legnth did you use?
I just put one of those on my X 2 weeks ago. Bolted right up, no issues. I think I am going to get that walker muffler they have also, 3.5" straight through should flow and sound much better than the OEM!!
old thread, but hopefully somebody will still give me some insight. if i do the cat delete with stock piping and stock muffler, so i need to have the truck tuned, or is that not necessary. like when you get an egr delete, you have to get a tuner. thanks
No tuner needed. There are no O2 sensors on the cat. Just bolt it in and go. I installed one in my truck a couple or so years ago. Didn't notice any difference either except for some louder turbo whine noise next to the exhaust end pipe. Kinda sounds like a jet engine.

From that link posted above. PureDieselPower.com All you will need is the two extra bolts w/nuts as stated in one of the posts. This is for the stock piping only which is 3 1/2".
