I have a 73 f250 highboy and have always had issues with the brake pedal not returning all the way which leaving my brakes lights on from time to time. does anyone have an idea as to which master cylinder I need for my truck?
More than likely it's not the master cylinder. Check your brake light switch. The way Ford retained the switch wasn't one of their better ideas. It uses a push nut kinda set up and the switch will gradually push through the little retainer sleeve allowing the switch to move away from the pedal and remain on.
New switches come with actual nuts that won't lose their adjustment.
Not the case here....I've tried taking off the one so it would extend farther but it wasn't very solid so I put both nuts back on and left it as you see in my picture
