upgrades

I have a 1960 F100 223 I6. I just got it and am starting to do some work on it to hopefully make a Daily Driver. I am installing complete new Brake system. Up graded to a EC445 Double piston Master Cylinder , all new lines , hoses , wheel cylinders, front and rear shoes, drums, spring kit.And new bearings in front. New Battery.I was trying to start it the other night and after screwing around with the choke cable (installed by PO) It started and then killed , tried starting for quit a while seems to be turning over slow noticed smoke from positive battery cable. It was way hot. So I pulled starter and am getting it rebuilt, Ordered a new solenoid. I also ordered a Pertronix electronic ignition upgrade kit. I think I have a good start. Now I just need to wait for parts to get here.

Glad you got a new truck, we like 'em here. You might want to check your ground cables and make sure they are all tight as well.

Wrong grill

That is what I saw on here somewhere. Wonder if it was changed or if it was an early 60 and parts were used up?

No, it cannot be, because it's from a 1958 or 1959.

It probably swapped in because the two piece 1960 original was damaged and a previous owner couldn't find a replacement.

It's a 59 grille. The 58 is different. At any rate, I like it better, the 60 grille is the least attractive of the 57-60 IMO.

This is a 58
