So a lady I work with is trying to get a husband an awesome Christmas gift but doesn't know where to turn & I'm not sure what to tell her either. Her husband is restoring a 66 F100 but he needs a new firewall (I'm guessing rust damage). Anyways, does anyone sell replacement panels that include the firewall for a 66?
I would suggest you confirm that the "firewall" is truly what he needs?
I suspect he more likely needs a core support, also known as a radiator support, as they rust out at the bottom quite easily. They are repopped, by the way.
But a firewall? This doesn't make sense as it sits up high in the front of the cab under the windshield. I n all the trucks I have worked on, even on some of the most rusted out, unfixable and unsalvageable cabs, I have never seen a rusted out firewall. Even if the issue isn't rust, replacing the firewall requires dissecting the welded cab body pieces.
If he truly needs a firewall, he is looking at an incredible amount of work, and would probably do much better, faster and cheaper to obtain an entire replacement cab.
If the area is not too seriously rusted may want to consider patch kit?? Had some rust issues w/ the firewall on the 65; fortunately not serious enough to require cutting and welding patch panels. There were a couple questionable areas so I used a floor pan-trunk repair patch kit; Eastwood, or Por's 15 carry them; basically consist of fiber cloth, epoxy putty, and paints. I then bought the 'firewall pad/cover' which completely cover the entire firewall area. If the firewall has serious cancer, as Banjopicker mentioned, suggest check out the condition of the radiator support.

Just my opinion, but I hope this helps.

Here is a picture of a rotted firewall. Is this the area or part you are referring too??
