I just purchased a barnfind 1985 F150 XL shortbed 4X4 with a 351w & c6. The axle code is H62 but I can't seem to find anything about it. Any help would be great. Thanks!
From a quick search I found that the axle code "H62" is what is what some people find on their door jamb sticker.
To determine what axles you have there is (or should be) a metal tag on one of the differential cover bolts with the information pertaining to the axle.
There seems to be conflicting information on what exactly H62 means but number dummy stated in the thread link below that it means:
"1981/87: H62: H6 = 3.50-1 with Limited Slip / 2 = Front Driving Axle with Limited Slip."
