If you're not using that column and the turn signal switch works and you want to make a little money, PM me.

What are your plans for power steering? I was going to use the Toyota box but decided that I actually liked manual steering.

Im actually working on a Ben Frankin solution, which allows to keep the original box and all other original steering gear and possibly sections of the column. The new F150's and many other new vehicles are abandoning hydraulic power steering so if I can come up with a kit for the slicks, eureka. If not and I go hydraulic, I would likely go down the same path as others have with a Bronco box or other box fwd of the shock tower, pump, pulleys, hoses, etc. A lot more mods to the frame and engine than I am hoping for to go hydraulic, so we'll see. For now Im holding on to the stock column and ain't cutting nothing till all ducks are aligned - Axles / Suspension / Steering after frame blast and paint but I'll for sure let you know first if I let any of these items go.

Two wheel drives (and the pesky '66 F100 4X4's) are different.

GOOD CATCH!! --- Steve FYI:

Steering Box: 64 F100/250 4x4 = C3TZ 3504-S
Steering Box :64 F100/250 4x2 = C3TZ 3504-U
64 4x4 Shaft and Worm Assy = C3TZ 3524-R
64 4X2 Shaft and "Rack" Assy = C1TZ 3524-A

Not sure what your column tube needs are, column shift / floor shift? Send a pic of the chopped shaft on the box to my email if you want. Im curious to see just what you have going on there, see if I can help any further.

Yeah, understood on the patience part of it. Hey Im still curious to see where your PO cut the shaft and his mod for the rag joint. If I end up doing the Electric Power Steering I will have to cut the shaft and u-joint. I am hoping to find a 2nd complete assembly before I buy the electric kit. Good luck man -

Here are some pictures for you. Btw, what's your name? You should put something in your signature so i don't call you 64 or something.

Thanks Steve. Ill send you a PM, you should have all my info from a Holley 4bbl you sent me, if Im not mistaken. Anyway, its probably a blessing in disguise you took this apart if I am seeing correctly. Looks to me you were steering your truck by not much more than a pin or bolt through the steering shaft the PO cut off. I suggest if you go back together with the same type of set up, and you dont plan on splining the shaft, you should have the bottom half of the rag joint welded to the shaft on the box. Even you pin it and get several good tacks at least you are not relying on the pin alone. Others will likely chime in on this. Catch ya on the PM.

yeah, i guess you're right. not ideal. i'm getting a 67 column from Pat (a guy in Oklahoma) so I'll figure something out when I get it. I'll probably use the other one, spline it and get a new rag joint. seems safer that way.
