Crazy Door Locks
Hi,
2007 F350 Dually 6.0L Diesel....
Door locks acting crazy, locking unlocking at will. Hubby pulled door lock fuse for a few days and reinstalled. Clicking resumed a few days later. Pulled fuse again for now. Have noticed when key in ignition that we can hear clicking coming from behind the dash, down low and center near the trans bump.
Reading on this forum, seems the clicking noise behind the dash may be coming from some sort of security module. Most of the posts are for earlier models. What is this module on our year model called?? VSM? GEM?
I understand module has to be reprogrammed by dealer, but is it relatively easy to switch the module ourselves? Hubby has mechanical skills, just lack knowledge on this vehicle. Need to save where we can. Just spent $1500 on truck last month. Budget is smarting.....

Yep it's called the VSM.
Here are some of the wiring diagrams for you
to look at. Let me know if you need others.
As I understand it.
The VSM is up under the dash near the radio.
You access it from the driver side of the dash.
They could of made it easy and put it behind the
radio. But NO they did not make it easy
Basically it's between the radio and the speedometer.
EDIT : Before you pull it if you can get the dealer to read
the data from it so they have a copy to reinstall into the new one.
