still missing

I did install the EEC mentioned in post #12. Truck has more power, a lot more, but still misses. Your suggestion to test the injectors using noid lights will be done tomorrow. I just got off the phone with a local mechanic fire fighter friend and he is going over it in his shop tomorrow. He likewise thinks it may be an injector. Fuel rail pressure at last test several weeks ago was 45lbs. as I recall. He is also going to do another compression test.
Thanks to all that responded to original post and also to those that responded to today's frustrated post. When truck is fixed and hopefully it will be, I will post what the problem was and the solution. Thanks again. Trimman1224

You can also listen to the injectors and see if they are pulsing.

That's how I have diagnosed some that were dead.

Interesting, I wouldn't have thought about that as I think of using one for mechanical noises. But I guess an injector firing really is a mechanical noise as well. Thanks.

A mechanics stethoscope is the tool of choice. I have used a 3 ft. piece of 3/8ths clear polyethylene tubing. Its flexible and can be used for reaching under the plenum.

Meant to add that earlier, just didn't have time to elaborate.
