1964 F100 2 Tone Factory paint scheme
Yesterday I saw the Doctor that had bought my 64 new, I ask him about the paint color of the truck and he told me when he bought it new the paint was 2 tone, Blue and White, years later he had it painted all Blue. I ask if he had any old pictures of the truck and he said he does not. I am wondering if there was a paint scheme in 1964 that Ford Motor company used also would vin decoding it give me that info. I am getting close to spraying it and would really like the paint scheme like new. This is a doll and I want it just like he bought it. In the purchase I had to agree to one concession he wants to take his wife on a date in it. It was the truck he and his wife went out the first time in. Pretty cool story. If anyone knows the 64 paint scheme I sure would appreciate it. It is a Custom Cab truck. Thanks David

When I had my 8M Merc repainted I took a lot of photos, with the trim removed, to ensure that the correct scheme was reproduced. I later met a guy who had a similar '66 and he had done the same. There were slight differences around the cowl, the trim spears on the hood and in the door jambs. I attribute these differences to the trucks being built in different plants, mine in Canada, his in the US. I suppose both were "correct". However, you might see trucks that are not two-toned in the door jambs at all. This is definitely not correct in my opinion.

If I'm correct, the truck was originally Academy Blue below the trim, and Wimbledon White above the trim.
My question on this topic: Did the 1965 trucks also have Wimbledon White for the top color in the 2-color paint scheme?
I want to have my '65 F-100 painted with Caribbean Turquoise below and white on top, but I see that there is also a Pure White color code for 1965.

With tu-tone paint, the primary COLOR code is listed first on the Warranty Plate.
1964 ~ VM: V = Academy Blue / M = Wimbledon White.
1964/66 ~ BM: B = Caribbean Turquoise / M = Wimbledon White.
1964/66 ~ BC: B = Caribbean Turquoise / C = Pure White.
Turquoise on the roof and below the side mouldings. White above the side mouldings, and door frames.
