E4OD od light blinking

Alright so I took my dads car trailer back up to his house a couple miles away and the truck did good so I drove it around on and off the throttle to get it to shift thru the gears and every thing was good nice and smooth. Good solid shifts no slipping awesome. Then I thought I would test it a little more and take it up a fairly decent hill and it stayed in first like it always does no big deal but on the down side it stayed in first no coast. Get to the flat again and take off from the light and it wouldnt shift from first to second until I let off of the gas. I drove around some more and it started going back to normal. So I think the atf is getting hot due to lack of flow thru the cooler. Any body got some ideas??

All right guys I finally got a chance to pull the lines and blow them out. I blew thru the small trans cooler and then thru the radiator cooler from the bottom. Got some gunk out of the top trans lime port. Put it all back together tested for flow and voila big mess all over the floor. Ive never been so happy to have to clean up a mess. It shifts on time and nice and smooth.
FYI these transmissions do not like low flow or to be overfilled or to get hot. Ask me how I know.
