Trans pan after it being cleaned out. If you look closely you can see where the filter has been resting for a while. Dark spots in the picture around the ford logo.
The rest of the trans looks really clean so fingers crossed between the vss and dropped filter maybe she will be alright. On another note i found atf for 53. Bucks for 5 gallons.
Easy sub im not even done with the trans yet lol. Im actually a little happy the vss was dirty and the trans filter was sitting in the pan. It gives the trans a reason to act up
Well after taking my boys to breakfast. I ran and got my atf fluid, shout out to the guys at Merit Oil in Bloomington. I called a few ford dealers for the filter clip and got the deer in the head light look over the phone called a speed shop no dice went to Budget transmissions in town here and Brian looked at me for a minute got a grin on his face and said ill be right back and voila he hands it to me and said take it I have a bucket full of them. So another big shout out out to Brian @ Budget transmissions in San Bernardino Ca. So I have everything I need except for brake cleaner to clean the outer trans and trans pan up.
Whats up steel. Hows the eye doing? Send me a trans and the parts ill do yours first and figure out how to do it then ill do mine
LOL Eye's doing much better. Still have at least 95 % of vision in it. Gotta catch up on your thread though. LOL Been Busy.
On a side note, when I had my trans pan down a few weeks ago I went to Pick and Pull and cut a drain plug out of a ford 351 oil pan and brazed it into the bottom of the trans pan. WORKS LIKE A CHARM.
Thats cool steel. Glad to hear no more pirate for you. Lol. I thought that having a drain plug was a big deal but if you pull the rear trans line and let the truck pump the fluid out it works good and you get more of the old fluid out.
I got it all put back together i over filled it but thats ok ill crack that rear line loose and cycle some out.
