If you've got a laptop and $20-$30 for a USB-OBD2 ELM327 compliant cable and can wait a few days for the cable to ship, www.forscan.org software is free and will do a glowplug and injector buzz test. But short of that then yeah, what Bullitt390 said.
I'd rep for the link but I'm in rep jail.
I'd like to know that too. I downloaded it as the one thing I am looking for is something to to a contribution test periodically to see how injectors are doing.
It will go a glow plug test.
And it will do the injector test where it cycles each injector twice.
And it has another test that you can run while the engine is running,
but no balance/contribution test.
I emailed and asked if they will ever include the balance/contribution test and
they came back and said probably not. I also asked if they will ever include the
ability to disable each injector and that apparently is in the plans but it's
really low on the list of items to finish.

Thanks. Wonder if the injector test is worth anything or would contribution be better?
FYI every time you turn the key on before it starts it will self test the gloow plugs and the injectors.
For some reason some of the trucks you can barely hear the injectors buzz. Maybe the particular strategy used I dunno.
All a buzz test does is verify that the electrical circuit to the injector is complete.
Contribution and Pulse width are a better indicator. IMHO
