do you use loctite on the cups same as you do 7.3s? done a bunch of 7.3 but doing first 6.0. have the tool. getting info before i pull cup out. reason for changing is dealer had two washers on injector and didnt torque injector. was lose and took oring out. cup is pitted from combustion coming past washers or just carboned up. figured easier to put new cup in. has 3/4 of a washer in bottom of cup that wont come out. just spins around.got injector cleaned up. think it will be fine with new orings. thanks
Replacing a cup requires the head to be pulled per the book.
The cup is stainless steel. Take a bore brush clean the cup and install the injector, replace the hold down clamp.
Drive it.

Never said it couldnt be done.
I stated what the ford book says. I trust that if ford thought it was the correct way they would be paying the techs far less money.
They dont like to spend any more then they have to.
Im pretty sure we can figure out why doing it on engine on a 7.3 was ok and why on a 6.0 its bad.
just an update. bottom of cup was broke. put new cup in and new orings. truck runs fine now. just smokes alot. im guessing there is fuel in the exhaust from owner hydrolocking it. only ran it for about 10 minutes. will run it longer and see if it clears up. truck isnt trying to hydro anymore so im hoping im on the down hill side.
