I have searched and could not come up with the answer i was looking for, I am looking for some helpful hints and or guide to change an injector on a 2003 F350 6.0L. It was at the dealer for a reflash due to poor running and hard starting when cold, the last flash was before the buzz one so its been a while prob. early 04. They checked it out before doing the flash and said #1 injector was weak, i have a new one from ford and would like to do the work my self as i do with all my repairs but i thought i remember something about changing certain parts???? It came with a new copper crush ring on base to seal the combustion chamber, What else do i need to get and or know to complete this project.
Thanks for any and all help

You need new O-rings (1 blue, 1 white) for the fuel inlet ports as well. put a little oil on them when you install them so they don't get pinched going in. make sure the copper washer comes out of the head with the old injector. 12mm wrench for valve cover bolts, 8 mm socket/wrench for hpo rail bolts ('03 m.y.), T-30 torx for '04+m.y. engine, 15/16? wrench for hpo line on '03 m.y. engine to rail if you want to move it out of the way. T-40 long shaft torx to remove injector retainer. 24 ft. lbs torque on the injector retainer. not that bad of a job considering it's the front injector. the hardest part for me is the pass. sidebolts on the hpo rail. good luck
6.0 Injector Removal/Installation:
It should be noted that injector serve on the 6.0 is different than on the 7.3. No air tools should be used in removal or installation of the injectors to prevent damage to the injector. A T-40 Torx bit with a minimum shaft length of 2" is require to ensure proper torque of the injector (24 ft/lbs) and to prevent the drive tool from contacting the injector and damaging it. New o-rings and combustion seals should be used any time an injector is removed. Care should be taken when installing the high oil pressure rail to prevent damage to the upper injector o-rings.

I just noticed my last link didn't work for some reason ???
here is another try:
http colon //ford****************s dot com/downloads/RH%20Fuel%20Injector.pdf
hmmm...
I guess you will have to take out the words "colon" and "dot" and substitute the symbols back in and then paste the url in your web browswer. Not sure why it won't work as the actual url. Also, substitute "power stroke forum" as one word for where the asterisks are (be sure to include the "s" at the end of forum).
Also (Brickie) - part of my original post was the statement: "replace them yourself" - This was just the heading (referring to replace injectors yourself) that I cut and pasted from my spreadsheet - I re-read my post and it sounded weird (you probably figured that out) but I just thought I would explain ............
