Injector sleeves or cups
Are injector sleeves and cups the same thing? If not, what is the difference? If I were told that I had a cracked injector sleeve, what would have caused the sleeve to crack? TC

Currently have the same prob w/my 99 @150k mi. Found diesel in the coolant, pulled the covers and guess what, a loose #6 injector = cracked sleeve! Little green droplets immediately started flowing through the sleeve wall when I pulled the injector and the injector was a much lighter color at the tip than all of the others except the #5 I replaced two years ago. I am now replacing all sleeves and injectors myself. PITA to find the injector sleeve removal tool--ordered one from international at quite the hefty $350 price, but overall, not a terribly hard job, just time consuming. By the way, I paid about $11 a piece for the injector sleeves at a ford dealer that deals w/only superduties and med-heavy trucks.
