Thats good Tim. trying to figure out what I am going to do on my winter vacation this year. Took some time off this year. Will be off from Dec. 28th to January 12th.
The only way to tell is to run a pressure test on the degas bottle.
yup... going to harborfreight this weekend to get a pressure tester... one of the reviews the guy said he used it on his f250 6.0... so figure it should work on mine... dont think they ever changed the degas bottles between years...
That it would be Tim. The one truck I had would leak a bit of coolant that would drive me nuts because I couldnt find the leak. Wouldnt even show with a pressure test. finally showed one day. The gasket on the side tank was leaking a tiny bit. Replaced it and it was happy again. Wouldnt hold in the winter though. New radiator was too efficient.
the other 2 guesses are EGR cooler.. (not finding anything there... if i can get to march ill know for sure if its internal or not there... ).. the other is the Oil cooler...

A pressure test will show exactly where it is coming from. Block, heads, intake, a loose coolant fitting, radiator, who knows.
Exactly Tim. Although that truck was weird. I pressure tested it and it would not leak. Would only leak a tiny bit of coolant when it was cooling down and the pressure wasnt high in the system. I had put a pressure tester on the system and had it holding 18-20 psi for 2 hours. ( I decided to go take a break and watch some tv)
