Possible ipr failure.....

06 6.0, and the question I have is is it possible for the ipr to slowly die, or do they just die? I ask this because periodically I'll get long crank/hard starts but the truck will start. It happens when the truck is cold or hot, doesn't mater. I've been using my scan gauge to monitor and my ficm is good, it's in sync, I'm getting over 500psi at start up from my icp and my ipr is anywhere between 23-30% on start up.

Hers the kicker though, I've been seeing on the odd occasion that when the truck does go through a hard start, the icp seems good still but my ipr percentage on start up will be around the 40-45% range. I believe Ford specs thT the ipr should never have to exceed 30% for start up.

I've replaced the screen on it with the updated version when I replaced my stc fitting with the new version, the dummy plugs are updated as well. Although I have not done the stand pipes yet.

Any ideas? Thanks

I kinda have the same thing going on. I get random long cranks hot and cold. IPR % seems high at times and normal at other times. I have new HPOP, new dummy plugs and stand pipes, new injectors, new ficm, new ICP and harness. IPR was replaced recently as well because the connector got broken off of it. I pulled the IPR over the weekend and the screen was in good shape. Went ahead replaced it again. Can't figure it out.

The increase percentage of the IPR is compensation for a leak. I'd start with the standpipes.

Up to 45% IPR on cold start is nothing...

Seems like it would be consistent if it was a leak

Think I figured it out, changed over the standpipes today. The passenger side stand pipe was cracked?? Right above the actual joint were the top half fits into the bottom half.
Except now I have to go back in cause I'm getting a leak from somewhere. I belive its the bottom two bolts of the valve cover, right beside the heater box and what not.

That would do it. Small crack @ High pressures and they open up
and there goes you oil out the stand pipe and back to the pan. Not
to the injectors where it was intend to go.
