Truck starts and runs perfect almost always. 2 times now when shut off for just a few minutes it will just crank and refuse to start. So far, letting it sit about 15-20 minutes and it fires right up. Anyone near Asheville with an AE so I don't start replacing unneeded thingies?
Not sure if this applies to your situation or not but I occasionally have this happen also. I have not pursued yet why this happens. What has worked for me up to this point though is just shutting the ignition off and restarting. Fires up every time when I do that.

I've tried that... Took the keys out and walked back in the store for a few minutes. Tried again a few times and only got a very healthy crank. It was dark so I didn't really notice any smoke. After about 20 minutes, normal crank time and start.
Mine is doing the same thing. When it is cold it cranks fine, but when it's hot after use it either takes a minute or refuses to start. I have replaced the IPR and icp without any luck. My IPR duty cycle is a lot higher than it should be. I have been told leaking O'rings on the injectors could cause this issue, but I don't undertand why letting it cool off will let it start.
No start when hot can often be an IPR issue. While you wait on someone with an AE to chime in, be sure to make sure the tin nut has not fallen off the back of the IPR.

Because the colder the oil gets, the thicker it becomes. Thicker oil will leak past an o-ring slower which means you can build more pressure against the leaking o-ring.
I don't know if your issue is indeed o-rings, but that is the reason cold oil will help the truck start faster if the o-rings are worn.
Perfect timing! Mine does the exact same thing. Though I have yet to have a no start. Fires perfect when cold but when hot it will turn over slower and take a bit longer to fire.
So I was wondering if this could possibly be a starter goin bad? Should I have it tested and does this sound like the same IPR/leaky o-ring issue?
Sorry for the kind of hyjack. Hopefully our problems are the same and we get em taken car of.
Could be fuel pump too. If the pump gets hot then it may not like to work either. Next time it doesn't want to start turn the key off, then back on and put your head under the truck and see if you can hear the pump working, if not then there ya go, if so then yea, leaking oil sounds like it's the problem to me.
Ok I'll try this. But like stated it has not not started yet just slow. And I just did my intank mods and ran the pump alot to cycle fuel into the filters and what not and it never gave me any trouble.
So would say it probably is leaky o-rings or could this possibly be the starter getttin hot too and not wanting to fire properly?
And is there any way to check for bad o-rings aside from pulling the injectors?
Happened again, this time to my daughter as she ran in to get a gatorade, so the truck was off maybe 4 or 5 minutes. I told her to sit it out and call me if it won't fire after about 15 minutes... Short of going to the dealer do any of the auto parts carry a reader that can pull codes?

You will need live data from a scanner . ICP pressure ,IPR DC % , or hook a manual gauge to it ..
