Help checking codes?

Hey guys. I've searched all over and can't seem to find how to check the codes on my truck. It's a 94 f150xl 4x4 4.9L with the m5od trans. I've found videos about how to jump out the the EEC test module but in all the vids I've seen they have the 5.0 with an auto trans.
Does it make a difference? What exactly do I need to do? No CEL is on the dash but I'm curious if anything is stored and would just like to know the process for future use. Thanks

Here are some instructions with links to code definitions: EEC IV Self Test hookup . Leave out the test light or voltmeter pictured and count the blinks on the check engine light. With the 4.9 and manual transmission, you will need to hold the clutch pedal on the floor during the entire test.
