Diesel conversion
I've got an 02 F250 4x4 regular cab long bed with the 5.4 triton engine and a six speed transmission. The engine is locked up and I'm wanting to put a 7.3 or a 5.9 cummins in it. I'm trying to figure out if the transmission in the truck is the same as the six speed that comes factory behind the 7.3 power stroke?

The internals are different, and so is the bellhousing bolt pattern. A transmission that bolts to a 5.4L/6.8L will not bolt to a 7.3L.
