? Stuck throttle plate ?
? Stuck throttle plate ?
Hey Fellas,
The truck in question is a '05, 4x4, 6.0L PSD, EB Excursion.
The last time I had it into the Stealership was to check out the lit CEL. They told me this truck has some sort of 'throttle plate' that is stuck open - causing the CEL to be lit. It isn't causing any engine performance issues, although the constant CEL being lit does cause me some anxiety.
Anyone with any thoughts on this?
Thanks in Advance, Guys!

'05 Ex motor will have it, as it's always an "04" motor so to speak.
If it were me, I'd delete the plate and not worry about it. If the plate is sticking due to build up, the code would go away. If the motor isn't moving it, it won't. Simply talking.
Also, a question, why is it people bring their trucks to the dealership, if they feel the need to call it a "stealership"? Always wondered that...

You're both correct, I shouldn't go where I don't trust their judgement. I should simply take the truck to a dealership in the next town...

Nevertheless, thanks for your assistance with my question.
