? Stuck throttle plate ?

Hey Fellas,

The truck in question is a '05, 4x4, 6.0L PSD, EB Excursion.

The last time I had it into the Stealership was to check out the lit CEL. They told me this truck has some sort of 'throttle plate' that is stuck open - causing the CEL to be lit. It isn't causing any engine performance issues, although the constant CEL being lit does cause me some anxiety.

Anyone with any thoughts on this?
Thanks in Advance, Guys!

Hmm. 05 doesn't have a throttle plate unless it's an 04 motor. What was the code?it would be under the intake elbow if you had one. Disconnect it.

'05 Ex motor will have it, as it's always an "04" motor so to speak.

If it were me, I'd delete the plate and not worry about it. If the plate is sticking due to build up, the code would go away. If the motor isn't moving it, it won't. Simply talking.

Also, a question, why is it people bring their trucks to the dealership, if they feel the need to call it a "stealership"? Always wondered that...

My question also. I'd never take any vehicle to someone I didn't trust.

Sounds like you guys are lucky and don't even know it; must be that your dealership takes care of you & your vehicle - otherwise you'd know why I refer to them as the 'stealership'. Sadly, the bottomline is I don't feel as though my local dealership has my best interest in mind. I get the feeling they are ONLY about the $$$.

You're both correct, I shouldn't go where I don't trust their judgement. I should simply take the truck to a dealership in the next town...

Nevertheless, thanks for your assistance with my question.
