Need help identifying carburetor

I have a 77 F250 with the 460. Someone put a reman carb on it and I need help identifying the carb if possible, so I can get the correct rebuild kit. The only markings on the carb are the name Motorcraft and a sticker with the numbers "6-168 11/23/11". When I call Napa they said none of these numbers mean anything to them. Here is a picture from the passenger side.

If I can't get a rebuild kit then I am going to have to buy a new carb. The floats aren't set properly and the carb is dumping tons of fuel into the manifold.

Thanks for any help.

That's a Motorcraft 4300 series. The numbers that you have are from whoever rebuilt the carb and are pretty much meaningless to anyone else.
Originally there was a metal tag on the carb with the ID number stamped on it, that's the number you need. Unfortunately that tag is removed when the carb is rebuilt.
Was this truck sold new in California? Let me know and I'll see if I can go by application and get you the ID number.

Yes, it was built in SoCal. I don't know if this helps at all, but when I look up the Autoline reman carbs on RockAuto it looks like their part number C8094A and not C8017A.

Thanks!

if it is original to the truck, it's probably a 4350. usually there are some number stamped on the front, left base plate. If you rebuild it, make sure to measure the clearance between the metering rod hangar and the carb...the rebuild kit I bought didn't list that spec. I eventually bought a rebuilt on from Carb-X

The Ford parts catalog also has a serial number break, but it's at Y20,001, not Y60,001 like Rock Auto shows.
According to the Ford parts catalog there are four possibilities for the carburetor. If your truck's serial number is before Y20,001 the tag number could be either D7TE-BJA or D7TE-BJC. If it's from Y20,001 it could be either D7UE-AFA or D7UE-AFC.
The application I looked up was '77 F250 w/ 460 and California emissions.

Mine is Y60177. I pulled the carb completely off this morning looking for any identifiers other than the Motorcraft stamping and the afore mentioned sticker. The only other identifier stamped anywhere was on the throttlebody under the pcv connection, and that was a simple "Y". I am beginning to think I will either end up buying both model rebuild kits and figure out which one works, or buying a whole new reman carb, or Edelbrock new carb.

notice that this carb is a spread bore and a normal square flange replacement carb would require an adapter to work correctly.

I contacted and then ordered a reman carb from Carb-X. The carb came in and I mounted it, reconnected everything. Started the truck up and man what a difference! This 460 runs great now, maybe even more importantly I am now getting around 10mpg instead of the 3mpg I was getting with the poorly reman'd carb it had when I bought it. Put new motorcraft copper plugs in, and the truck just purrs ... until I put my foot in it and then it roars!

Thanks to everyone for all the help!
