I need to replace my carb and was looking on LMC for a replacement. They have alot of choices for my truck, but essentially only sell 2 if I just go by their part#. I need to locate my carb serial number so I order the right one and do not know where the serial number is. The Motorcraft carb does have a tag w/the following info:
D5TEASA B 6D 9

D5TE-ASA = Ford carburetor ID tag number = D5TZ-9510-AS (Motorcraft CA-1313)
My advice to you when rebuilding that carb is........take your time. The only way you can screw one of those carbs up rebuilding it is if you don't take your time, i know from experiance, not measuring the floats and tightening all the screws and puting the ball bearings back in the right spot can really **** a guy off when he goes to start his rig after rebuilding a carb......again please take your time, don't get in a hurry.
I am not going to rebuild since the carb is cracked and warped. All parts houses I looked at, including rockauto, list 2 carbs that could be used (2100d or 2150). I do not know which one to get; they look the same.
The 2100 was more reliable than the 2150, but the 2150 became the Ford standard 2v.
IMO, Go with the 2150
Where do you live exactly?
Any parts house can get you a carb locally.
The problem with rebuilding an ols carb is the shaft bushings wear out and they don't come with a rebuild kit..so it would cost extra money and time to bring an old carb up to snuff.
Just get a rebuilt one from a reputable parts house.
I wouldn't tell ol' mil1on where you live he may come and rebuild that cracked and warped carb..........beware of this man...........muaaaaaa...lol. just kidding.

The number you posted >>> D5TE-ASA IS the carb ID number. That tag number is what tells the Ford or garage mechanic working on it what carb it is, and gives the correct carb parts list and carb kits. Finding an original tag number on a carb is rare, most are missing today.

He is in Florida so I figured he must be near an auto parts store
Thanks 4 the help. I do live by many parts store, but they are a PIA about some parts. I have already lived this carb problem with my 66 f100. There was only 1 carb for it and I ordered it online, no running around wasting gas. I did the same here from rockauto. Never used them, so we will see.
