Stealth delete.

I have not been on here in a while so please excuse me if this has been talked about recently. I live in a smog strict state. I am considering installing a stealth delete on my 05 F-250 6.0. Any suggestions as to which one to get? Also what else would I need to do with the EGR so that the fan and such will work correctly but I will not get CEL? Thanks

Not sure on the stealth delete but might just want to put a bullet proof egr cooler in there and call it a day.

You would install an EGR cooler that has been welded shut. The EGR valve is left alone.

For the emissions test load the Trans Only Tune, which will keep the stock engine operating parameters and also eliminate the CEL from the inactive EGR cooler.

I just did my 04 by purchasing a stainless block plate from dfuser and welding it into the up pipe. The block plate along with a freeze plug to go into the exit of the EGR cooler was $15. In hindsight welding the block plate really isn't necessary because of the way the EGR cooler mates to the up pipe, there is a lip of about 1/8" on the cooler that fits inside the up pipe, the block plate gets sandwiched between the lip and the up pipe which should sufficiently seal it off once clamped in place. In my case my cooler was fine and I am not convinced that the full delete kits dont eventually cause a cracked Y pipe. Another thing to consider is cutting the EGR scoop out of the stock up pipe, of course this will require you to pull the up pipe which is a knuckle buster .

I have repaired several dozen Y-Pipes at this point and I would bet 9 times out of 10 the repaired y-pipe had a blown flex joint on the EGR side.

And it isn't a coincidence that the ones that blew were with solid EGR delete up pipes.

Well that confirms the EGR cooler supporting the Y pipe is pretty important. I am sure someone will eventually come up with a way to support the up pipe but until then plugging the cooler and or the up pipe is the best solution IMO.
