77 HID conversion

Was just given an HID kit from a friend that bought it for his gf's jeep and it wouldn't work with the sealed headlights in it and he didn't want to order the replacements. My question is, does anyone make a replacement round headlight for the 77 that would accept a twist in bulb?

Are these what you're looking for? They use an H4 bulb.

What do you mean by twist in? Are talking about the style that has the locking ring that twists to seal the bulb in the housing? The only bulbs like that that I know of are 9004 and 9007. Most, if not all conversion housings use a 9003/H4 bulb.

It would help to have the number of the bulb.

I think we have a mis-application in the use of terminology. HIDs require a ballast, right? And "twist-in" bulb systems (H1 through H4) are basically in between old-shool sealed beams and LEDs.

There are a zillion 7-inch round headlamp housings on the market. Google it.

If you're planning on installing a HID swap, do it right and get the projector housings.

Projector housing will allow you to properly adjust the beam and cut off.

Please don't be "that guy" who installs the $50 ebay HID specials into non-projector housings, blinding everyone on the road just to look cool.

Take a look at TylerJ150's build thread as an example. This post shows what housings he is using...Link

There are many other HID projector housings available. As HIO said...Google it.

It's the same kit Tyler has without the lens. And honest I've never had a vehicle new enough to know h4 and the like don't socket in like 9004 and 9003. I was asking google about replacement lens for the 77 f100 specifically. I didn't realize ANY 7" lens would work. That's nice to know for sure.
