headlight bulbs interchangeablity

We have a 9008 bulb in our headlights for low/high beam. I was wondering what other bulbs might fit in there besides the 9008 bulbs. For instance, in our fog lights, I was able to fit 9005 bulbs in there instead of our reg fog light bulbs. Help because I think I might have buy another HID conversion kit and there are only few vendors that sell 9008 kits.

if you ever go through a car wash that uses high pressure, the 9005's WILL LEAK water into the housing. Happened twice to me. I finally said screw it and put the stock ones back after spenind weeks getting the water out.

The 9008 is a 65 watt/55 watt dual filament high/low beam twist in bulb. The 9007 is the same wattage but an indexed bulb that requires a retaining collar/locking ring. The 9005 and 9006 are single filament twist in bulbs (9005 usually high-beam 65 watt bulb and the 9006 is a 55 watt low beam bulb). All have completely unique electrical connectors. NONE of the bulbs are interchangeable.

The 9008 bulb is the 'latest' dual filament bulb that is a better performing bulb then the 9007 it replaced and the only bulb legal to use in your headlamp (H13 SAE bulb designation noted on your headlamp lens).
