So I have been having some issues with my turbo when towing my camper this year. while towing i have noticed that my vgt reading on the sg2 is acting up, like its reading 70-80% when i'm on the throttle then it will drop down to high 20's to low 30's and have more power. so I was looking around under the hood and noticed that the connector tabs have been broken and zip tied to hold in place and one of the wires is showing bare wire. I was wanting to know how to replace the pig tail wiring as this may resolve the issues I am having. I have already found multiple places to buy the pig tail, just wanting to know how to replace it. Thanks in advance for any advise.
Line up the connector for orientation, cut the wires, solder and shrink wrap. If you don't want the fancy butane torch you can use a Bic to seal the shrink wrap.
Don't forget that the SGII shows the data for what the computer is asking the turbo to do, not what the turbo is doing. If the turbo is stuck the computer can ask for odd settings. Mine did the exact same thing.

The ebp shows the pcm what the turbo is doing.... in most cases
Well! The verdict is that the turbo needs to be cleaned as some of you had stated, so the truck is going into the shop tomorrow to have the turbo cleaned, new EBP sensor and connector, new VGT connector, and possibly a new unison ring. Hope this solves the problems I have been having. Supposed to be going camping in about 3 weeks, so we will see.
