New Downpipe

I just received my 52103 downpipe. About an inch from the v-band clamp is a threaded fitting and a plug. Anyone have any idea what that is for?

Is there a sensor on the original downpipe or is this for a turbo outlet pyro?

That bung would be for a pyro.

That would make it easy, but everything I have read says it should be in the exhaust manifold. Is there a big difference in temp just after the turbo and what would be the warnijng temp if I used that port rather than drilling the manifold?

I believe in general after the turbo will be about 300 deg cooler then at the manifold.

I would just drill and tap the manifold that way you know for sure.
