EGT's

I want to install a EGT temp guage. There seems to be two types of temp sensors. One screws into your exhaust manifold and the other clamps on to the exhaust after the turbo.

Which is better?

Thanks

EGT gauge

It's better to get the temp pre-turbo. The turbo uses heat to run and putting the probe in after the turbo will not give you as accurate a reading as the one before the turbo.

So which manifold? Left or right would be better?

Either manifold will work fine, the left side is easier to access to drill and tap.

Hope this helps

We put mine on the drivers side manifold, was easier to route the wiring up under the floorboard up the pillar to the gauge.

Pre-Turbo is the best.. It gives you a much better reading then using post turbo.. Altho in the future my mod will include adding a 2nd Pyro gauge to monitor post turbo..

But for one gauge the pre is what you want!
