Shifter Cable adjustment

I had issues in the past with my 92 f150 with E40D not going into Park and staying in reverse and then it just went away.

Now after about 6 months or so it's back to its old habit and not wanting to go into park or slips into natural from park.

Every thing is tight, New shift tube bushings. Even put a new MLPS sensor on it and it made it worse.

I need to adjust the cable. I know this because I can get under the truck and put it in all the gears just fine.

My question is how in the heck do you adjust the cable>? The cable looks like to me that it is not adjustable. I'll take a picture tomorrow of the assembly.

I have read the directions and know what to do just cant figure out how to get the adjuster sleeve to adjust.

Pull the black gauge bezel off and look down towards the left hand bottom side of the cluster you will see the shift indicator cable and a thumb screw. Be easy on it.

I think you might be talking about the white round thumb screw that adjusts the indicator needle on the dash....

I'm talking about having to slam the column shifter up into park to get it to go actually into park. How do you adjust that cable?

Figured it out~!

Although, I have a bigger problem now....The column shifter tube snapped in half. I think that must of been my problem. Because even after adjusting it I could not get it into first gear......Then after giving up it just started flopping around....So....Gonna have to order some parts or head to the salvage yard...
