Sliding window latch

The last two trucks I've bought have had the sliding window latch broken when purchased. About a month ago I bought a Dorman replacement part, now it has broken too. Are there any quality replacement parts, or am I going to have to get creative?

Ford didn't offer one when I got my '94 in 2011. I went to an automotive glass shop and they had one that fit. I still have it and it still works three years later.

You could always upgrade to the 95+ rear window

C.R. Laurence offers an all metal latch, DVL2.
I have had one for a long time now.

EOTZ-1040860-A (replaced D0TZ-1040860-A) .. Sliding Rear Window Latch / Available from Ford

MSRP: $11.07 ~ FTE sponsor silverstatefordparts.com price: $7.84.

Longtime in-famous POS! It's plastic, has to be folded over upon itself to latch, sooner or later, the POS breaks.

Applications: 1970/94 F100/350 / 1983/93 Ranger Regular Cab.

This might sound like a newbie question, but what is the difference between the 94 and 95 sliding rear windows?

Currently mine doesn't slide, but I've considered adding one. Guess I better know the differences before trying to install one.

I'm not sure how many difference's there are, but I do know that they have a much better latch. My 97 still has the original.
