I disagree guys,,, the raised middle ring goes down. I'm sure it will crush all the same,, but every new injector I've gotten has them like that. There are two raised rings that touch the injector,,, and the single raised ring touches the Inj cup. However I remember wondering the same thing a long time ago,, and I've successfully installed them both ways,, but the new injectors are all like described above.
I agree there is a certain direction they are supposed to go, but at the end of the day it really doesn't matter. Either that or I have just gotten lucky, and the hundreds of them I've installed, without reguard to direction, have just ended up the correct way. I dought that.
I think the big thing is a Clean injector Cup & Injector where the copper washer seals
My thinking was
The Combustion Side seals on the Inner Edge of Copper wqsher
The Fuel Side seals on outter edge
This way the Combustion/fuel seals on the edge/point of the Copper washer it would enter First
theres been enough injector jobs over the years that if it was a immediate problem or problem at all we would know it. Its probably the case where the washer seals tight enough under torq 24-26 ft/lbs its crushed enough to not matter much
