Im a nitwit and dropped an injector, it hit the concrete and the plastic piece on the tip busted off. Is there any way to get this piece or am i going to have to find another injector?
So what do you think i should do. Should i buy one of the refurbished injectors? Or cowboy up and send in the whole set to be cleaned. I read the thing on cleaning them, and i think i could do the cleaning part, but not the testing with the old wire and all that. What do you think would be best in the long run. This truck is staying in the family forever so its going to keep it on the road longer with less problems, ill do it, yet i dont want to drop a ton of unneeded cash into it.
Hard to say, if the motor ran smoothly your injectors were probably fine, you could buy a single refurbished injector is you're concerned you may have damaged one. FYI.. if the little needle sticking out the bottom got bent then the injector will stick open, and there's no fixing that. I recently bought a set of 8 reconditioned injectors for about $100.
they will work . ford motorsprt sells an adapter set to plug them in, you can get the pintle caps from napa as well .box of 50 for like 8 bucks, ill post the pn a little later
