How big a deal is it going to be to replace the passenger side front cab corner and cowl? (mid fifities part # 775 fa)It looks like it's going to be a big deal just removing the old piece.
I have some rust at the bottom where the inspection plate is, and it appears it was repaired before and just looks ugly where they spot welded it to the cowl. I'm sure I can doctor up where the weld to the cowl meets and I'm just wondering if its better to do a full piece replacement or just just piece in a lower cowl/fender replacement panel (mid fifities Part # 7710). For an Arizona Truck I am finding more and more little rust spots that are making me crazy.

I did both front and rear cab corners and both rockers on my 54. I used the 24" cowls since i didn't need to replace the whole thing. Here are a couple links to post I made with progress pics. I drilled out the welds with a spot weld bit.
I don't know what truck you have or where you live (suggest adding that to your profile and signature through UserCP) but I replaced both of them on my 1950 F2. If you have a mig welder it isn't too bad. The hard part is fixing what you find underneath these panels. Also make sure that the panels that you get have good, crisp contours that match your truck before you start cutting them to fit. Some of the parts out there are made with sheet metal dies that have not been maintained properly.
Here is what I found on the driver's side. The passenger side was worse.
i didn't have any rust to deal with, but I decided to fill the cowl louvers since they were blocked off for the AC unit anyway. I have some pix in my Body Mods gallery. I cut and welded mine along the body seam corners.

I'm obviously technically challenged; how do I see your gallery?
