Fixing bronco tailgate

How do i get my tailgate to work in my 88 bronco. I saw the wires were all ripped and corroded where the goes in between the gate and body. I tested for power which they had but i cant get the window motor to work. The motor is good but when i plug it in to the harness i get nothing. And all the little tabs for the heated window strips whatever glue holds them on how do i get them to stick back on or will supper glue work fine for those

There is a switch in one of the latches that tells the window motor when the gate is closed. You may have to bypass that to get it to roll down.

To glue the defogger tabs back on, use this:

Permatex® 21351 - Rear Window Defogger Tab Adhesive | O'Reilly Auto Parts

It already is did im trying to get power to the window motor for now to make sure its gonna work before i put anything back together. When its closed it still wiggles a little bit so its not a perfect lock shut would that be enough to make it so it doesnt work.

I used the info here to get mine all fixed up: link

If you think it's not working because of the loose tailgate, trying leaning into it with your shoulder while turning the key.
