it does have floorboard rust, a little on the drivers side, but every thing else is solid on the cab, structure wise the cab mounts seems to be in really good shape
Never use a stop sign..... use a NO PARKING sign instead
If that's all the rust the cab has, just replace that cab corner. Also remove that foam seam sealer Ford put into that corner on both sides. It holds moisture and that causes the infamous rusty cab corner. After replacing the metal, I would repaint the whole cab floor with good paint. On my 89 cab I used bed liner paint and have no issues in 6 years with it.
Man that's doable --- pull out the plasma and slice that ugly stuff outta there.......fire up the Lincoln or Miller and pretty up that machine with some clean stuff out of the used parts yard or from any number of suppliers........
All within the art of the possible...........................
Unless you have some SERIOUS sentimental value. Don't bother. You are going to have a TON of money into a $1500 truck And it will still have 250k on it
Your heart is tugging but I have to tell you this. Pull up a Craig's List for the Charlotte, NC area and search for 87-96 F150s. In this area they are very available and all rust free. If you don't see what you want right now, come back in a month or two. I have been looking once a month for three years and am amazed at the good trucks that are on there. I bought all three of my trucks from the Charlotte Craig's List. 1800, 1500, and 3400. 172K miles, 138K miles, and would you believe 71.5K miles. In the end only you can decide what to do. I'm only providing information.
