how do you remove the 4x4 shiftier

I am trying to put the vinyl flooring in but this has to come out truck is a 78 thanks.

Just the ****? Or the whole shaft?

The **** screws off, and the upper shaft (that the **** screws onto) is held on to the lower shaft with a couple bolts. I think you only need to take off the **** though to be able to get the vinyl over the shifter.

I want to take the whole shaft out it will make it easier to install the vinyl and i want to paint the shaft to

If you crawl under the truck it will be apparent what to do to remove the shifter

Ok looks like a pin and a big bolt is holding it on what size is the bolt. its bigger than my 1inch wrench so ill have to buy a new wrench. any body know the size of the bolt is?
