You really need some way to read live data. Spend $150 to $200 on Scan Gage II or about $30 on Torque Pro. I use torque pro. It is an android app. The app cosy $5. You will need a Bluetooth OBD2 reader to plug into your OBD2 port. That will cost $15 to $25 on eBay. There are goods ones and bad ones. Just buy from an American seller so it can be return of it doesn't run well. Your phone or tablet will connect to the OBD2 via Bluetooth and read live data. I got Torque Pro with the intention of getting something more powerful layer on. Well, I haven't found the need to upgrade yet. If I do, I will upgrade to auto ingenuity. I don't think there is much difference between sgii and TP except TP doesn't nd to be programmed because it comes with a 6.0 package that you just load.
If you get some data, there are some great guys on this forum that know this engine. They will help you diagnose the problem. Without data, we a really guessing.
