I cut the factory twist lock things down and reinstalled them onto the LEDs...they are in there solid now. I also had 9005 style bulbs in my fog lights..i reinstalled the factory ones and maybe that will solve something with the LEDs flickering and getting brighter when i turn the fogs on
How much modding to the lights has to be done. If you for what ever reason go back to a bulb are you going to have a issue? Incase one fails and you have to get a temp bulb from autozoo
For those looking for before and after photos look for my thread. I'm on mobile so I won't be able to find it to link. Miles was unable to get before/after shots. Mine aren't great, but its something. With the headlights on its hard to look at the truck from up close without squinting. Somethin that wasn't an issue with the old headlights.
But do they project further? My experience with flashlights and led is the light doesnt seem to carry as far
You've obviously never used a GOOD flashlight w/a Cree Bulb then, I have a 225 luman Fenix tactical flashlight thats no longer than the palm of your hand that can shine a spot beam down to the end of my block (appx 1/4 mile) & illuminate that spot very well....
Ive got some decent 250 lumen flashlights they do work well. I almost went hid a few years back untill people quit talking about how wonderful they were and started complaining about them. I just want something brighter that I can rely on and not have to worry about frying the wiring from over amping or a balast blowing etc. The stock head lights just suck when watching for wild life in rutting season.
As far as flashlights, I have an LED pen light for checking pupils. It'll beat most normal flashlights in output. I have to use the pen light judiciously....

LED or HID your still going to have a box. HID it's a ballast
with the LEDs it a voltage & current regulator.
I have a good quality LED flashlight and headlamp ( ) and they both shine further than any other flashlight i have. These definitely shine further than the stock halogen headlights, and the pure white light is easier to see things
