I have ordered a sct tuner and custom tune from gearhead for my truck due to extreme egt's while towing my 8k (empty)travel trailer. Cruising it would stay around 1100-1200, which to me is way too hot. I received the tuner and read the ecu strategy and it is VXCF4DC. Is there a particular strategy I should go to?
I do not know much about the different flavors of strategies or if there is a list of them on the internet.
Vxcf7 can't be all that bad.thats what my truck has.vxcf7c3 to be exact,I've had the truck for 4 years and just had to have the ficm redone by Ed.and in that time it was never re flashed.according to the report I have the last time it was at the dealership was in 08 and that was for tires and oil change.

You may have already had a replacement FICM with the newest mild induction heating.
The FICM strategy associated with the VXCF7 was very aggressive and FICMs were short lived. Yes some lived a usefull life, however, it didn't get that nickname for nothing.
