SCT xcal2 vs. SF 9415?
Just been researching on the SCT flashers and was wondering what the difference is between the xcal2 and SF flash device 9415. I know that the xcal2 is custom programmable and such, but are the canned tunes the same on both of them? Also, can you adjust for tire size on both of them? I'm running 37" tires and the only other mod I have is a 4" turbo back MBRP exhaust, and I don't plan on doing any other mods other than a tuner. Any advice on which one I should go with? I'm looking to get better MPG and a little more power would be nice. I don't tow that often but will pull 5th wheels and a 26' boat a couple times a year.

X-cal II and custom tunes. Canned tunes are a bad idea beacause it is designed for the masses. Custom tunes will cater to your vehicle and your specific needs. I personally used Spartan diesel and I got some excellent tunes. I used to have a superchips tuner and I will never even think to go back to somthing like that after I have used custom tuning. Night and Day!!

Good Morning,
The 9400 is a custom tuner and the 9415 is a strategy flash device. Which means that with the 9400 you can only download custom tunes and with the 9415 you can only download SCT preprogrammed tunes. You can convert the 9415 to a 9400 but then you would only be able to download custom tunes and would not be able to download SCT preprogrammed tunes any longer.
Pricing is generally very similar for both programmers. If you purchase the 9400 from a custom tuner you get custom tunes which are usually included in the price of the tuner. If you purchase a 9415 and then decide to go custom, you would need to purchase the custom tunes separately.
Hope this helps out and is not too confusing LOL.
Thanks,
Vivian
