Blower Motor

I have a 2008 F350 and there is nothing blowing out of the vents or defrost for AC or heat. It doesn't matter what fan speed is set. Would this indicate a blower motor? Where exactly is it located and how to change?

start with the easy stuff. Check the fuse and relay for the motor. Then, check the fuses in the SJB that power the temperature control unit. After that easy-to-check stuff, it's time to break out the meter and schematic and do some actual diagnostic work.

Do you hear the compressor cycle when you select a/c? Do you have the manual or digital hvac controls? Wondering if maybe the blower motor resistor is burned up but usually with those some of the speeds will still work, believe those are under the dash in 08 quick Google search should tell yor for sure and give exact location.

The compressor cycling has nothing to do with whether the blower operates.

If NO blower speeds work, it's not the resistor pack.

Thanks for playing.

Well aware of that was just wondering if it was coming on and that part of the system was working or if the whole system wasn't responding.

Your welcome.

Was just trying to get some more info not trying to be an hvac expert. Won't the compressor still cycle even if the blower wasn't working? Didn't mean to say that one was effecting or causing the other.

Another tip - you can see it near the bottom of the first post in the thread I linked - pull the electrical connector on the fan and check it for voltage. If there is not voltage when there should be, then the problem is electrical. If that is the case, post it here and we can step you through a few checks.

If the voltage is present on the connector, but the fan won't blow, that is a pretty sure sign the fan motor is the problem. The thread I linked has step-by-step instructions for replacing it.

Thank you. They are digital and you can hear that you are selecting different setting but nothing comes out of vents or defrost.
I will check the voltage this week. I'm hoping it isn't an electrical issue. That sounds like a nightmare.
