Hi all , I just returned home from a trip out to Altoona Pa. with the truck towing the camper. While out there I heard a slight squeal from the front driver side wheel , like from the low brake pad indicator touching , but when I just touched the brake pedal "very lightly it would go away " but when I let off it would come back . It doesn't pull when braking or driving , brakes actually feel good and stop strait with hands off the steering wheel. 2011 with a April 2012 build with only 18k on the odometer.
My brother in law who used to turn wrenches for a living said it smelled a little like a heated asbestos smell from the pads ,I know they don't use asbestos any more " Just a example"
I was thinking maybe the caliper pins need lube and or where hanging up ?.
There was a bit more brake dust on that wheel too as compared to the other..
Is there any TSB's on the calipers or brakes ,
Would it be covered under the 3yr / 36k BTB ?.
Regardless its the truck in sig. and need to be addressed before bigger problems.
Any Ideas or thoughts ? Before I call my dealer and schedule a appointment,
Knowledge is Key ,
Thanks Rich, "Happy Memorial Day"

Thanks for offering to keep us updated, Rich. I'll keep an eye on this thread to check on any news you may have.
Well I talked to my service advisor that I have history with , with my 07 6.0l and my truck is over by about 1 month on my 3yr/36k btb. But I still have my 6yr 100k btb Ford Premium care I purchased when I bought this truck so its still pretty good. I drop off the truck tomorrow and let them dig in . My bad on the purchase date . It has a 04/2011 born on date.
We'll keep you updated,
Rich
The conclusion , picked up my truck this afternoon , dealer replaced the front calipers and pads , lubed everything up , applied latest calibrations , went thru the truck btb.
Now its nice and quiet when applying the brakes, Ready for the road again ,Premium care and the Blue Oval
Happy , happy ,Happy
