my brake lights wont come on unless i push all the way down the on the brake pedal, i already replaced the brake switch and it is still acting the same way, does anyone have any tricks, adjustments or recommendations?
Did you install a Ford OEM Brake switch? it is supposed to be self adjusting. Did you install all the plastic washer? in the proper order? This old brake switches does activate when there is enough brake load so if the brake system has air in it, the brake switch is going to activate mid way down or even worse...
I will check for air in the lines, I just purchased the truck and the previous owner said he had just done the brakes. Thanks for your input, much appreciated
On my 65 Mustang I had a similar issue and slightly tweaked the tabs like is mentioned in this video. The idea he has for a shim seems pretty good to me as well. I think Ford must have used basically the same style of switch on many vehicles.
