Ill keep it in mind Jeff. No offense taken about the aftermarket junk. I don't work there anymore anyway haha. I know some of it is junk off the shelf.
The starter I have now is actually an old autolite starter. Was put in New, Years ago by my ol' man. Weird part is that it hasn't done it again since last week.
It's getting pretty darn hot around here to risk anything Ba-Ba.
Tell me about it. I was driving around all day today. No A/C unless I'm rolling. Traffic sucks. The insulation in the roof makes a huge difference though. I don't think I could live without that insulation.
Hmmm. It did it again tonight. And worse. And several times. I'm going to replace it tomorrow. I'm going out to the lake with a girl and can't risk getting stranded. (I might try to get stuck though haha)
On my way to the parts store this morning it did it again. Cold this time. Anyway, I slapped a new starter in it and it fired right up. We'll see what happens.

That will help for about the first three times you change it, lol.....I changed mine out several years ago and it kept going bad after a very short time. I finally took it to an electric motor rebuilder and for about the same $ he rebuilt it and it hasn't been back. This was before I put in headers mind you. They were sending them across the border to my cousins to rebuild.......was hit and miss and more miss in my case. Maybe they have it figured out by now.
