Diagnostic Tool

What is a good diagnostic tool to buy for the ICP and other sensors? I've got any early 04 F250 6.0L powerstroke.

Without a lot of investment, you could go with the scangauge II to watch parameters...$150

If you want to step it up, you can go with the auto enginuity...$350 plus laptop

Top of the heap is the ford VCM interface with IDS software. $1200+ laptop+ $600 yearly license.

All $ are approximate.

A cheaper option is the torque app with a bluetooth adapter. 30 bucks. Personally I have a sg and an older snap on tool.

Sent from my leash using IB AutoGroup

Just so you know the scan gauge II is not actually a scanner but a monitor.
It can be used for some diagnostics but is incapable of running any tests

I guess it depends on what you are trying to do, but I've had Dashboss for about a year now, and it works very well. It will pull DTCs, and clear them and show you information for just about every sensor. I would say that Dashboss is a good "basic" tool, but is not going to hold a candle to the PC based tools.
