Have a 2005 Excursion with a 6.0
Right now it has only a 4" turboback exhaust and a tuner with SRL tune from Matt at gearhead. Cat and EGR are deleted.
So if I were to continue to add power with say 190cc injectors, bigger turbo, and wilder tuning ( and head studs of course), what else would have to be done to keep me from tearing it apart ?
Trans ? U joints ? Rear end gear ?
Has anybody done this ? Any specific recommendations for parts, shops or sources ?
Probably stupid questions, but this is my first " hot rod"

The best thing you can do to keep from tearing a 6.0 apart is to keep it stock and perform maintenance religiously. Hopping it up will multiply your problems exponentially.

Not stupid questions at all. But if you want a 6.0 hot rod, be prepared to have more problems than the average 6.0 owner. There's no mod you can do that simultaneously increases performance and reliability.

I'm thinking not so much about "reliability" as just avoiding something that would be guaranteed to fail under the stress of the increased power.
Here is my thought and this is just my experience with racing and truck but has no technical backing. If you add 200 hp to a truck I would think that empty there is still less strain on the drivetrain then when pulling 20k lbs with stock power levels so I'm sure the truck can take the power for a while
